 An optometrist is a healthcare professional who specializes in eye and vision care. They are trained to perform eye exams, diagnose and treat visual disorders and eye diseases, prescribe corrective lenses (glasses or contact lenses), and provide management for conditions like dry eyes or glaucoma. Optometrists can also offer pre- and post-operative care for eye surgeries.

They hold a Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree and are licensed to practice optometry, but they do not perform surgery. For surgical interventions, they typically refer patients to ophthalmologists, who are medical doctors specializing in eye surgery and medical treatments.

Medical records are required for many things such as surgery and can sometimes be hard to get. Thankfully, with the technology today, we can now provide you with a copy of your medical records online.
